In a move that will delight students and parents alike, the Sindh government is considering extending the summer holidays in educational institutions across the province, including Karachi, by an additional 15 days.
This decision is prompted by the ongoing threat of a heatwave and forecasts of imminent rains.
A notification regarding the extension is expected to be released shortly, confirming that schools and colleges across Sindh, which were initially scheduled to reopen on July 31, will now resume classes after August 15.
The original summer break spanned from June to July 31. However, in light of the extreme weather conditions, the authorities have deemed it necessary to prolong the holidays to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
This extension aims to provide relief during the intense heatwave and prepare for the rainy season, ensuring that students return to a safer and more comfortable learning environment.
